"Devil Take The Hindmost" doesn't give the precise timing, except that initially as the market was dropping from it's alltime high the real-estate bubble was still expanding, but in early 1990,Governor Mieno, publicly expressed he would like to see real-estate values drop 20%,and that was the beginning of the real-estate bubble to collapse.
During the market fall,Japan was constantly trying to prop the market which is now being called "Creative Destruction" and matches my feelings to a "t".IF you don't let the market JUST COLLAPSE,and you don't have the capitulation, the purging, the cleaning out;but instead, via our Project Plunge Control and such, you just stretch the process out over time in a grinding painful process(as we are now exeriencing),such that the painful aftermath of the bubble will be significantly extended(and it says, here, that Hoover post-1929,was guilty of the same thing).Max
