Gottfried, I would agree that there's "no rush to get into the stock." I suspect we'll bounce around with a downward bias for the near-term. I'll try to make a few more short plays until some visibility returns. When this cycle flips, I'll probably take a good hit, but with a little luck, I'll end up with more wins than losses and some cash on hand for some purchases. In any case, I have my AMAT long position established.

As for earnings... I think they'll probably report an in-line quarter, but I'm expecting their outlook to be poor. It appears many are already expecting some weakness in their forecast, so who knows how much is already priced in and how the stock will react. Unless we see some significant drop in the sector tomorrow, I'll probably hold my LRCX short play and ride it out. I'm sensing that AMAT will rise after their report, but if it does, I think it will be short-lived. If LRCX moves up with AMAT, I'll almost certainly press my dark-side position.
