I don't know what the "left's fanatical purpose" is (nor the "right's"... :), but you might like to look at this link I posted earlier tonight: "Hot Air" in the new global warming agreements: reason.com And, yes, I tend to think that a CO2 induced Global meltdown is not in the cards... I'll lose more sleep over the real possibilities of an asteroid-strike "Extinction Level Event". (Curiously, one of the better arguments for development of heavy lift capability in space travel [replacement for the shuttle], and some of the "Star Wars" technologies.)
