Well Karen,

I am the first one to challenge that behavior. So I didn't exactly shrink from it.. Maybe it would have went unchallenged, I don't know.. One of the regulars here even defended them..

As for doing something about it.. I can't do a helluva lot
except when I see it.. I challenge it if it is gross enough.. But I'm sure as hell not conscious of SI.. and don't want to be..

You do what you need to do with China for the health of your own country, but you don't have to like it, or them, and you don't engage the Chinese for pleasure, if what they do bothers you. Same with people who are rather horrible. If they are people you need (like your garbage man, or your plumber, or your nurse) you hope 1.you don't know anything horrible about them and if you do 2. you ignore it (and of course you don't see them socially if their beliefs are the opposite of your own. Unless you like that sort of thing. Some people do. I don't.)
