I think the only thing to do is to fade a breakout on test of the high or low end of the range on the assumption that it is going to be false, but you do actually need to use a tight stop, in case you are run over by the steam train known as the emerging trend.

A more interesting fade is that of the triangle fake breakout. We did two of those today in Done in 90 Minutes:
