OLDTRADER,

Here is the Brett Miller take. I thought DELL was the one increasing the pricing pressures!

'Reduce' Dell ahead of Q2 rep.: analyst (DELL) By Tomi Kilgore

Dell Computer (DELL) is inching a penny higher to $27.03. Analyst Brett Miller at A.G. Edwards downgraded the PC makers shares to "reduce" from "maintain," citing valuation concerns. "The market is valuing Dell based on a return to historical unit growth levels, which we feel are irrational," Miller said in a note to clients. Among negative near-term catalysts that Miller feels could drive the shares lower are continued price pressures from Compaq Computer (CPQ) and IBM (IBM) and lowered PC unit estimates from research firm Dataquest. He feels the shares deserve a premium valuation, but doesn't see an attractive entry point until they are below $18. Dell is slated to report fiscal second quarter results on Thursday. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial/First Call currently expect earnings of 16 cents a share on revenue of $7.71 billion, on average.
