There have been other "rumors", completely independent from this presentation. One of the sources I recall also claimed that Hammer would feature an integrated memory controller, which seems to have been confirmed.

Additionally, AMD have known for a very long time that P4 would feature a longer pipeline and the ex-Alpha people employed by AMD are well aware of the merits of a longer pipeline.

All in all, I'd say the odds are overwhelming that Hammer will feature a longer pipeline. The question is: how much longer? It could well be as little as a stage or two, which likely won't enable Hammer to reach the same operating frequencies as P4 (providing SOI doesn't prove to be a huge success).
