England has a magnificent uncouth subculture. You won't find it in Masterpiece Theater, though you will find it in Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, and English movie that X and I recommend heartily.

One of my favorite uncouth politically incorrect friends is a British guy I play football (real football, the kind with a round ball) with. He was once a renowned hooligan, and was briefly Britain's most wanted man. Now he owns a bar (The Dog's Bollocks) in Thailand, and alternates between there and these parts. Great stories, marvelous sense of humour.
