Do you feel that after-hours trading has reduced the possibility of a 'crash'?

I do, because it seems that takes away from the 'element of surprise/oh my gosh whats going to happen'

I assume most after hours traders are more astute. Therefore is company xyz comes out afterhours and says they miss estimates by 10 cents the traders immediately react. Say it drops a dollar. As an investor I am less likely to panic knowing that it 'only' dropped a dollar. I can sleep a little easier knowing that 'well that wasnt so bad'. I am less likely to put a sell at mkt order in the morning because the uncertaintity has been reduced.

Any thoughts on my novice ramblings?
