Thanks for jumping in here. Unfortunately, the patch did not help and appears to have worsened the problem. And even worse it looks like I can't uninstall the patch. The docs say that I will have to have my original Win98se CD available. As Win98 was installed on the machine when I bot it, I didn't get a Win98 CD.

The troubleshooting docs did nothing but scare me half to death, as I'm not about to start messing with the registry. What do you think would happen if I went to Control Panel and tried to uninstall the patch from there?
