I never said that Arabs mismanaged the land. I said that the Ottoman Turks, who ruled Palestine until 1918, mismanaged the land. This distinction was obviously too difficult for you to understand, since the paper you cited was talking about agricultural production in 1948.

The Ottoman Empire ended in 1918. The British Mandate began in 1922 and lasted until 1948. A lot of economic development took place in Palestine from 1918 - 1948, driven mostly by Zionist money and settlers, and the improved quality of governance under the British Mandate.

The Israelis kept the land they conquered in the War of Independence in 1948. I know you think they should have retreated back to the indefensible borders of the UN partition, and offered the six Arab armies that had tried to destroy them a do-over on the war. Fortunately, the Israelis don't intend to commit suicide so that you will think well of them.
