OK, I knew someone from Washington state that did that with a spirit called Ramtha. The lady was beautiful and always dressed in white. "Certain people claimed to have a direct channel to particular spirits." Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder.

Channelling is some kind of heebie-jeebie spiritual mumbo jumbo that was big in California in the eighties. P{erhaps the most famous channeler active today in, I believe, Yelm, Washington -- J.Z. Knight claims to channel Ramtha. she has some connections with the San Juan Islands, having been funded in the early years largely by a wealthy gentleman here. Who is Ramtha? From their web site: Ramtha was from Lemuria. As a Lemurian he was one of a highly spiritual people, and a participant in a pilgrimage that traveled through what is now Mexico into the Atlantic basin (then Atlantis), which was the home of an advanced, technologically-oriented civilization. And who is JZ Knight? JZ Knight (in the spelling of her name she prefers no punctuation) is the founder and president of Ramtha's School of Enlightenment, the president of JZK, Inc. and the chairman of JZ Knight Humanities Foundation. She is the sole channeler for Ramtha. Ms. Knight is considered by most religious historians to be an icon of American New Age Doctrine and one of the most charismatic and controversial spiritual leaders in America. The following is a concise chronology of her life (For more detail see A State of Mind: My Story by JZ Knight) And what is Channeling? Ramtha popularized the term "channel". Before that, the term used for a spectrum of spiritual processes involving communication with etheric entities was always "trance medium" or "sensitive." Many who claimed to go into a trance to communicate with spirits were reporting valid experiences. But JZ's process is quite a different one. Ramtha calls her a "pure channel," which is a very rare anomaly. She actually abdicates her body and experiences a rushing down a long tunnel to a brilliant light; not unlike the death experiences that have been reported by people who have been declared clinically and legally dead but have returned to their bodies. Ramtha surrounds her body and, through a process of light synthesis, actually operates through the brain stem and lower cerebellum and he can make it move, talk, and interact with the environment. JZ's essence or spirit, if you will, is not present when channeling. She is not in a trance nor does she remember anything that occurs while she is gone.
