But then you're completely leaving out the public employees' unions, even though a few teachers work hard on the sly. If they don't get caught and corrected, the work itself is it's own reward...

And, of course, there are many stories of hugely valuable inventions by people in skilled trades who began thinking because they were too lazy to do some of the menial parts of their trade in the age-old and traditional manner... Hard work is a virtue, and virtue is usually connected with honor. But not always. And sloth, while usually a contra-virtue, can also be a motivator. I have yet to meet a liberal who works at doing his own thinking, preferring the talking points of his intellectual betters-who have arbitrarily decided to be liberal out of resentment for their exclusion from the circles of power. I have yet to find anything honorable in any liberal, whether leader or sheep. The followers are fools, while the leaders are the very opposite of honorable...
