Judging from today's stock action (which was NOT based on the IBM news IMO because they weren't really news), it might be the case that investors follows these developments more closely now. Pricewatch pricing has been a very reliable indicator for price trends, OEM gray channel dumping and ASP development. And Yahoo's BBS was all over the price cuts today (always a good sign what the "dumb" investor is thinking).

I agree that buying into AMD right now is very speculative and unless there's a large PC demand surge due to Windows XP I doubt they'll make money for some time. But maybe instead of buying AMD stock I'll buy a 1.4 GHz Athlon (or I'll wait until the 1.53 GHz Palomino is out; it shouldn't cost much more when it's out). I hope I won't ruin ASPs then. ;)
