Andreas,

Good post. I would hope that Intel would welcome Nvidia.

Andreas, Re: "Even Intel is divided over the P4X266..."

I imagine they would be. On one hand, VIA offers something that could really help Pentium 4 acceptance, and on the other, they also mean to challenge Intel's authority when it comes to licensing. Who's to say what has transpired between Intel and VIA.... Maybe Intel has never offered VIA a license, because of your theory about ATI; maybe they have already made an offer, but it wasn't all that good, and VIA declined; maybe it was a good offer, and VIA would have liked it better, so they declined; maybe it was a great offer, but VIA thinks they can get away with not accepting due to acquiring S3. There are too many possibilities, but I think settling the whole issue ASAP would be in both company's best interests right now.
