The 133MHz FSB Athlon has a peak bandwidth of 133x2x8 = 2.1GB/sec, and that is the same as a single module of PC2100 memory. Thus, one could easily conclude that dual channel DDR wouldn't provide an improvement.

But that wouldn't take into account the inefficiencies in DDR SDRAM interfaces. By contrast, the EV6 is very efficient. So I expect that the nForce will seem substantial improvements in memory performance.
