White and educated blacks are leaving in droves. Thousands every month. (It's hard, of course, given the difficulty of a family's taking anything at all with them.) This exodus of skill is certainly not in the interest of the economies, and therefore of the majority of blacks, in these countries. I am sure that most know it. Those that don't now, will soon enough.

It amazes me that whites are still allowed to own property or businesses in South Africa or Zimbabwe.

Check this out. First the farms, then the businesses. The top African blacks, government people and their cronies, will share the spoils, with pittances going to the cadres:

smh.com.au

Yes, inevitable, because past injustice has provided a cover for the greed of the new kleptocracy.

It is a very grim situation, all around. It is very sad that the innocents today are still reaping the grim harvest planted by ancestors who believed that it was their mission to colonize the world, but they are, and likely will be for many years to come.

I hate to say this but English colonial government brought many good things for all concerned. And without some sort of law these countries will tear themselves apart. DeBeers saw the handwriting on the wall years ago and relocated to Switzerland and recently took their company private. Most of their goods are expected to come from the Canadian Arctic in the near term.

Mining houses are usually owned by offshore companies to avoid not only tax problems but ridiculous regimes from at home and abroad. Big clouds of money find new homes with a flick of a switch at the slightest provocation. Thanks to this modern wizardry the worst Ayn Rand and George Orwell forecast can never happen. I would guess every lawyer, judge and politician in Canada banks in the Caymans.
