They get nailed all right.

But much depends on how much effort they put into avoiding liability and how much effort plaintiffs put in to collecting. Its tougher to hide today, but not impossible. You don't get the kind of government help on collections that is given in criminal fugitive case.

Its interesting that the complaint you retyped is very similar to the Milburg pleading. Maybe they are cooperating. <VBG>

I don't know about the damage total in this case. According to the longs around here all of them got their original investment out during the bubble. I believe that to be true for folks who were in for the ride to $100/$400 share price. A very small minority would have held for the ride all the way back down. Certainly nobody reading this thread.

At any rate damages won't reach the billions and billions dreamed of by class counsel. What I would really like to know is (1) whether there is a market for RMBS IP; and (2) what INTC is going to do to get its name out of this litigation.

If the class attorneys do their professional best, INTC is going to have to go through a far more unpleasant round of discovery than I would imagine they'd get from MU or IFX. They are after all the real "Golden Ring for any lawyer who can find the "smoking pin" - that you have suggested is purely mythical. <Hoo Hoo 8->
