I agree that CPN looks like it has a white hat in regard to the California price gouging investigations.

I loved your comment about the CEO selling options. <g> No matter what the analysts say, when I see this behaviour, I still call it distribution and I still want to take cover. The way I figure it, the "growth" story is already really long in the tooth and can't get any better. Can it stay the same? Not in the face of a pending national glut of electrical generation, that seems to be in the offing from my readings of the industry. IMVHO, CPN will be flat to slightly underwater in the next 24 months. We're not looking at a lot of big drivers to push the stock up, as far as I can see. And when the price does go up a tad, profit taking and options handouts to the special people will put a cap on things.
