Perhaps we should recall that one reason we have peace, freedom, and order is that our ancestors, the colonists, decided to exterminate the native population, rather than enslaving it.
It's more complicated than that, though. That probably helped. But there was also the idea of democratic government (which we got from those people we revolted against, the British), an unusual group of experienced and bright people to architect and then operate the government, and an open frontier to absorb the malcontents (which, of course, contained the people you speak of.)

We got lucky too in some ways. Suppose the Alien and Sedition Acts had withstood that court test? Much of the freedom we take for granted would be gone.

And unlucky in others. Suppose that instead of just hoping slavery would wither, the Founders had actually agreed to abolish it?

That is a very depressing thought. And likely quite true.
