Andreas, this guy is a genius. IBM's desktops are mainly retail now, if that. What's IBM's position in the corporate desktop market? Not even in the top 20 I bet. He is right about the image though, IBM's brand still carries some weight even though very few customers are buying their PC's.

We're talking about the North American base here...INTC needs to keep AMD out of the N/A corporation to stall AMD's rather remarkable market share advance over the past 2 years...Dell and IBM are 2 doorways to that market...The skeptical in me is asking: is the AMD threat to INTC so great that INTC/IBM have found it necessary to concoct a pact to protect the status quo of the N/A corporate market? Is this INTC's last remaining trump card?
