I don't think they have switched all that much production to Palominos yet.

As I wrote elsewhere, as long as Palomino doesn't have frequency bin splits well above Thunderbird, there's just no incentive to switch production. A direct consequence of McMannis' MHz Sells law - at least in absence of any active marketing on AMD's part to explain the performance.

It doesn't matter if Palomino is a better performing chip (which it is) or a cooler running chip (which it is), it quite simply needs run at higher rated frequencies.
