What's the worst thing?

Everywhere you turn in the product, you are invited or urged or required to sign up for various proprietary Microsoft products and services, sometimes at the expense of competitive companies. For instance, you are bugged to use a Microsoft instant messaging service called Windows Messenger that's incompatible with America Online's and to use a digital music player called Windows Media Player that can't create MP3 files but prefers a proprietary Microsoft format. And you are pestered to establish an online identity with a Microsoft service called Passport.
