<BTW, if I am not mistaken AMD didn't give a launch date for desktop Palomino at the last CC, they only said 1.5 GHz in Q3 (which could mean Thunderbird, too).>

The odds of such a thing would have been higher had it not been for the power dissipation issues. I believe the original target was for Thunderbird to stop at 1.2G and Palomino to kick in at 1.33G. So, all the the thermal related planning for the Thunderbird platform including motherboard and power supplies have been pushed a couple of speedgrades past the original plan.

Given the delays and Intel's aggressive P4 pricing, AMD may not have $100 ASP desktop part until 0.13 kicks in.
