"This whole market is going to sink fast"
If there is going to be a rally, it will be between now & end of Aug. From then until mid Oct should be slow, steady, down. Even so, there will be bounces along the way just like that 3/4 point bounce msft earlier today. I remember playing msft for 5 to 10 point bounces. Now, I feel good with a 1/2 point. Looks like mid Oct again will be a good time to load up on MSFT for a position trade. This is one boring market & I will be glad when it starts moving either up 300 or down 300 for some volatility. Sandeep, I'm in your camp on this one. Just remember that every sinking market experiences violent rallies. Don't be suckered by those rallies into giving up more of your money.

Also, don't expect to time the bottom precisely. Nobody does. The reason the market declines is that on net, people are selling their stocks. They're getting out of the stock market. By the time a real bottom is reached, total participation in the stock market will be very low, so the bottom will be caught by a very small number of investors.

That said, I don't expect the market to reach a bottom for at least a couple of years. Probably longer. Notice that the S&P 500 and Dow indices have not yet begun to decline decisively. When they do, in concert with the Nasdaq (and with the U.S. Dollar, as foreign investors scramble to sell off their U.S. holdings), then you can expect to see some acceleration to the downside.

Until then, keep your crash helmet securely fastened!

Dave
