FORECAST:
Dow Jones to 5000
S&P 500 to 500
NASDAQ to 500

All within 12 months or less,..... the only reason it has stayed up for so long, is that the professional spin doctors still have the skills to manipulate weak minds,.... thus, humans are creatures of emotion, not logic....

Did you get some sort of psychic vision? <g>

I have not seen predictions that bearish on the markets.
I assume that your scenario includes a major bursting of a real estate bubble (it one exists right now)---especially commercial real estate.

I will note that the upside on the Nasdaq was almost always underestimated in the bull market...so maybe the downside is also being underestimated (but still not as much as you suggest). I am not saying it goes much lower from current levels--just taking note of the risk.

The US and world economies will be in very bad shape if your targets were to be hit.
I think you are wrong.

BTW-- I don't see how you arrive at your market targets.

As a service to some of the newer readers of this thread, don't you think it might be helpful if you reviewed the last major "call" you made, and the history of the associated trade? As I recall, you expressed approximately equal confidence at the time, and refused to consider any possibility that you (and other members of your "select" circle) might be mistaken, and that aspects of your approach might be considered unnecessarily risky, if not foolhardy.

I think, Mr. Gates, that you often show some virtual congeniality, and that your openness in previously reporting the results of the above-mentioned trade was creditable. I do think, however, that predicting a series of unlucky "5"'s for the major indices at some unstated point in the future, and on the basis of mere assertions of special insight and knowledge, is rather a worthless exercise. You do nothing for your credibility by implying that all those who disagree with those assertions possess "weak minds" and are subject to "manipulation."

To re-state and expand upon an earlier prediction of my own: Believe me, all three of those indices will someday be at the equivalent of zero - out of business! So what?

Since we do not need supporting evidence or reasons, I will say DOW at 50,000 in 12 months..yeah just as silly as your "prediction".

Still up to the good all BS scare tactics..

Reading glasses might help you out a bit. Nothing personal.
