Your knickers seem to be in a knot over some very old stuff, and I certainly hope you are not under the impression that today's homeless are all mental patients who would be in state hospitals if only JFK had been smarter. I say JFK's intent was benign because of his siter's condition. He wanted to make things better for the mentally ill, whereas Reagan, as governor, just wanted to save money. The ACLU's input was on the issue of involuntary hospitalization, wasn't it? Relevant and legitimate.
