Oil rigs aren't that unsightly

They could always handle it the way they do cell phone towers in some places (here, for one) -- just make it look like a pine tree. No one seems to notice there is a tree that is much taller than the others with a blinking red light at the top (no bull, they do that here, I guess they do other places).

I think some real tall trees with blinking red lights might look nice in the cold, muddy tundra of ANWR...

Why would I have a problem with that? Oil rigs aren't that unsightly, and can be shielded with a fence or building.

Well then, Harry, lets see if we can discover oil in the Dells. Its nice to know you don't care...you can be a spokeperson for the oil companies.

I certainly would call the windmills on top of every hill near LA more unsightly than a oil derrick.

The windmills on the hills near and in LA are actually the derricks. The windmills are in the desert near Palm Springs.
