The reason for the so- called "energy crisis" was this absence of additional power plants. Anyone spreading that false info was spouting pure lies. I find it quite interesting that there have been no blackouts since the Democrats took over the Senate. I think the possibility of an investigation has helped the flow of power to be increased in a westward direction. Long live government gridlock! Hopefully it will be a looong time before we see the house, senate and presidency in the same party again. IMO there is definitely something fishy going on. Both the president and the VP joined the chorus....ie there is no way California can make it through the summer without black outs. There is simply not enough generating capacity. California has a power surplus. Today was a scorcher...air conditioners blazing every where. Where did the power come from? Does it grow on trees? Do power plants just spring up over night? Are our leaders incompetent? clueless? deceitful? IMO Bush is a clueless puppet. Cheney tried to put on a good show. I doubt he intentionally misled us. He has a production mindset and surrounds himself with like minded advisors....behind closed doors. And then voila comes up with an energy policy that misses by a country mile. I am not a supporter of Hillary....but heck...she at least held her misguided health plan ideas in public. What gave our leaders the notion that we want or need idealogs cramming their ideas down our throats? Zeuspaul
