We regard attacks on Dubya pretty much the same way you regard attacks on X, I guess......

It seems to me that if we were asked to respect the Office of President whilst occupied by Bill Clinton, you should do the same for George Bush, even though neither group has much, if any, respect for the person of the POTUS of the other group.

I vaguely remember discussing Mr. Reagan with you and can't recall any humor. I did, however, enjoy many a hearty laugh provided by Mr. Clinton and still do on occasion. Is there a rational person anywhere in this existence that thinks his writing could be worth a fraction of $10M?

We are all, I think, somewhat humorless when our icons are attacked. I try to be apolitical. I really admired LBJ. I thought well of Ike. Nixon was not one of my favorites but neither was JFK.

I dunno' about Al Gore. We're victims of the ancient Chinese curse ~ "May you live in interesting times!"
I don't think any of them since Truman hit the ground running. They all stumble their way through doing the best they can with what they have. It's the stumbles that make life interesting.

Wheewww. long post............ Must be bored this morning.
