Price is king, so don't worry too much about the absolute number of TRIN. Only look at the trend of the TRIN.

For example, when it's been going up and TRIN starts to creep up, you can see that people are selling into the move. I haven't looked at the TRIN today, but if it was stuck at a really high number, it was telling you that TONS of people were selling, and if it can't go down, they will have to cover. Just like it did here.

You can see that people have been selling for a couple of days in a row here, and that at the open today, not only was there a spike, but the absolute number was very high relative to what it is normally...so all the sellers are done, and lots of people short...and it can't go down, so it must pop and force some short covering.
