More seriously, altho corruption is SOP in Russia, at a staggering magnitude (e.g. Berezovsky is reputed to have gained control of Aerolflot and diverted ALL their foreign transactions to private pockets, I wonder whose?), almost everything that I read about LUKoy is that it is the best managed company in Russia. So what if they gave a private jet plane to a politician to get favored treatment, who doesn't?.

IMO--and this is not profound--the corruption and instability accounts for the enormous discount of the share price. The country is getting somewhat better, but Putin still is in the pockets of the oligarchs.
