PC maker earns 16 cents per share in second quarter with sales of $7.6 billionNEW YORK (CNNfn) - Dell Computer said Thursday it met analysts second-quarter earnings estimates as sales fell 1 percent from the year-ago period to $7.6 billion.

The world's top supplier of personal computers earned $433 million, or 16 cents per share, for the quarter excluding a pretax charge of $742 million for job reductions, consolidation of facilities and impairment of assets.

that may or may not be true but either way intel is after regaining the lost market share which may not be so beneficial

Very debatable. Nvidia just lost bunch of market share despite record earnings. Intel may hold share but lose pricing power for a long time...
