I think he is full of crap on his bill going up 500% and that nat gas is still up 500% in CA. Here are some figures from my PGE bill: July '01 = $.904 per therm June '01 = $.786 per therm May '01 = $1.08 per therm April '01 = $1.14per therm March '01 = $1.34 per therm Feb '01 = $1.58 per therm Jan '01 = $1.72 per therm Dec '00 = $1.05 per therm Nov '00 = $.92 per therm Oct '00 = $.89 per therm Sept '00 = $.79 per therm Aug '00 = $.75 per therm As you can see, there is quite a bit of variation, and some of the numbers have a 100% swing. Not sure where he is getting the 500%. That said, maybe there is a higher rate for people who exagerate greatly to make their points.
