And adding to that, TA of price, price spread, volume and time disclose principals at work. The principals of supply & demand, effort and result and cause and effect.

Without TA you could pick a bad time to buy a good stock.

One of my favorite TA books is the classic Technical Analysis of Stock Trends.

It only covers "old school" TA - i.e. primarily chart patterns. No fancy-schmancy oscillators, waves, etc.

One thing I particularly like about it is that it offers psychological explanations of many of the common chart patterns.

International Grandmaster.....my apologies..

It was late in the day and I tend to have a dry sense of humor. Looking at charts is a "reminder" of what made investors feel good (greed), and what made them feel bad (panic)....being creatures of habit, we tend to replay those moments over and over. When I miss a good play, I always remind myself not to worry...it will happen again...it's just a matter of time.

Good luck
Scott
