not sure about the september over august thing, though looking here you could say that there is usually always a ramp toward the end of the year, it seems to start later than september at times (at least the times that the market didn't get ramped the entire year),...that's what I get from eyeballing it so your mileage may vary stockcharts.com and I maintain that the "traders returning" thing is just a bull mantra that will make sense to a 2nd grader (the same level of deductive reasoning as that of your average retail mkt. participant that is able to regurgitate CNBC sound bites at will during happy hour), not necessarily related in any way to where the traders are geographically, which I doubt by the way is in the Hamptons all of August -bg-
