Hey Abner, The longer ("In-depth") reports are typically not made available to the general retail clientele, but you can often request them from your broker. In any event, according to typical ML policy, no new material information is supposed to be revealed in limited distribution reports unless accompanied by a more broadly disseminated bulletin summarizing the key points. I haven't seen either yet.

One of the other things that can happen is a system error or a human error. Something might have occurred during the pdf conversion process that no one noticed might have failed or perhaps, the report was improperly coded, or one of the stock referenced may have since gone "restricted" thus making it off limits. Except in the restricted situation, you might also be able to get a report from your broker.

The non-pdf versions of research typically get out sooner because the pdf conversion can require human intervention and research isn't a 24x7 operation.

I'm not sure what happenned in this particular case, but it does make ML look like it broke its own equal dissemination policy.

Abner, the referenced Merrill report hit my system on 15 August at 1:23 AM. The title of the report is a rather harmless sounding "Analysis of Company Visits and Contact Interviews" and is an overall industry report for Server Hardware and Appliances rather than EMC in particular.
