It's somewhat of a split, with the highway system being an Eisenhower administration project (along with the St Lawrence Seaway, and wouldn't Daschlegephardt squeal about THAT today...), and Project Apollo taking place mostly under Nixon. There were criticisms of all those projects by members of both parties at the time, but the values and ideals of a great and growing nation had not succumbed to attack by outsiders like today's Marxian "liberals" most certainly are. It was America going to the moon then-while today it would be the "insiders" paying off "Big Aerospace" for political soft money... The difference today is that anti-human environmentalism has paralyzed humanity from making large improvements to their world because the footprints are illegitimately criticized. ANWAR is NOT about preserving wilderness. It is about hamstringing the economy of humanity's strongest free republic...
