I would qualify it as a "recession" for some sectors, but overall, until housing prices flatten, and retail sales go negative, and unemployment is above 5%, it is difficult to say it is "here".

It is coming.

But the layoff effect has not taken effect, in MHO.

The "trillions gained" and "trillions lost" is misleading. Some firms would tell you themselves they didn't deserve multi-billion market caps. Was SCON really worth $120 a share?? BUYX at $30? CFLO at $100? What was really "lost"?
