"Why October?
Could it possibly be that the September quarter earnings will be out and will be pretty bad. I guess it becomes a matter of trying to time the buys. Right now, there appears to be no rush....the train is not leaving the station yet."

Seasonally, many experienced traders shy away from holding any "Position" trades from end of Aug until mid Oct. Over the years they have found it to be the best way to play that time period. Less stress & money saved. MSFT got some kind of bad news on CNBC concerning the DOJ appeal about 15 min ago, All I caught was bits & peices, MSFT began dt'ing on that news. Frog

NewVision,

<< Frog, It looks like HWP and Dell have painted a negative picture for PC related stocks for the next 2 to 3 months. >>

Hey NV. Well, I looked over the Dell and Hwp comments last Thursday night and I wasn't left with the same optimistic scenario. I may be off, but what I heard was --

DELL COO on CNBC saying that the turnaround would not be until the 1st or 2nd Quarter Next Year.

DELL CEO saying that there will be 'no overall pickup' BEFORE SPRING 2002.

HWP CEO saying that she sees no sign of recovery before 2002.

I may have seen/heard these things incorrectly, so please, anyone correct me if I'm wrong. So, yeah, I guess, to me, after hearing of those comments last Thursday night, I guess '2-3 months' seems a bit optimistic. I get the idea that 4months to 8 months is more like it. And that, mind you, is still built on Hope, Bobby style. But I'm just a lowly pigboy thinking that most rational people are praying for a pop in the market, ANY sort of late summer pop to get out (I still have some longs in QLGC and EMC, so I know the feeling), and then sit back and watch (with popcorn in hand?) a possible Fund selling Apocalypse Fall. ;-) The market most of time doesn't let the rational have it's way.

Keep up the posts, bc I like your point of view.
All imho,
pigboy
