It was a reduced estimate of already lowered estimates (May's warning).

The CFO apparently said that demand remained soft and there were signs of weakness in Asia and Europe. That's what I gather, anyway.

It's not as if it had a reasonable price to begin with, based on its P/E and outlook. I know, I know. The P/E is irrelevant. Fundamentals are irrelevant.

It might not be the kinder, gentler, cuddly bear market that the ostriches were hoping for. Paul has posted plenty of good notes putting the whole thing in historical perspective. It shouldn't come as a big surprise. But who knows?
