CR,

That is exactly right. Exactly.

Thank you very much for explaining it to them.

Like you, I am not a big fan of flame wars, but I do think the finest practitioner of the art on SI is jlallen.

Thank you for the compliment...

My personal nominations would be YYB and XXX.

And your buddy, Poet, is no amateur.

JLA

PS-Usually it is best to declare "victory" after you can credibly claim having won it. In this case, not applicable...

Not bad, but no amateur by any means; just a change in venue. I had a couple o disappointments. Her typical strategy is to line up some lefties behind the scenes to take pot shots. This thread has become short on the left perspective. This day would have been a good opportunity for a revival (especially considering X's departure). Maybe, I made too big a deal of her old (snake in the grass) character yesterday so she wanted to prove something on her own. Oh well. So, once she is dispatched what? You? Well, you are ok, but...well...thread wise, more is better.

I think there are better practitioners of flame wars than jlallen -- he lacks imagination.

I agree that Poet more than held her own. But she left a lot of loose trash strewn around that, if she's honest, she now has to go back and try to clean up. So far she hasn't shown any willingness to do that. Which is so far disappointing. But I hope she'll come back and take care of it.
