Not a set up. I un-ignored as to see the dialog and basically this is what happened.

B a guy who professes to not care about politics or political issues and ignorant of current energy requirements of the future stated that a number stated by as was questionable based upon the sum total evaluation of as's posts over time. (they are generally believed to be mostly bull fecal matter) B asked for a link. as ranted and railed as usual and the tenor of his posts lead B to say nice so as would not blow a gasket.

As pointed out that the President Bush's current comprehensive energy plan calls for between 1300 and 1900 new power plants. This is based upon an estimate that demand for energy over that period will increase 42 percent.
The Presidents plan calls for tripling our reliance on alternative fuels over that same time period. Still, America will be required to make substantial investments in coal, gas and nuclear energy to meet the projected demand.

I assure you that it wasn't a setup.

AS knows what I think about his views. I've told him on more than one occasion that the only thing missing from AS is another S. Nonetheless, on this issue he provided the cite, he was right, and I had no problem extending my apology -- twice.

I'm not in favor of saving a snail darter, a dinosaur, or any other inhabitant of this earth at the expense of man. This really isn't about politics or environmental issues. There are Big bucks involved here in trying to motivate folks.

As to the politics, I could care less. I long ago stated that we should be thankful that we don't get all the government that we pay for. We had taxation without representation, and they tell me that this led to the Boston Tea Party. Okay, now we have had taxation with representation and, I would submit, the outcome is not much better. Let's now try no taxation, and I don't give a hoot whether it is with or without representation. Being a student of this game, the power to tax is the power to destroy.

As AS would never recognize it is the system that is the problem. Obviously, if he thinks that we are going to solve our energy needs for the future by conservation ... well, he is sticking his head in something. It would be fun to run a survey to see how many of these conservationists are running around in SUV's.

And with this I leave this funny thread.
