Here is a good example of option manipulation:

i sold 9 CRYP August 25 calls at $2.25 in July ...did not want to lose the stock and repurchased the calls today at 3:20 p.m. for $1.35...the stock had held firm between $26.15 and $26.80 or more all day before my buyback..

20 minutes later it tanks to $24.60...needless to say had i simply waited i could retained the calls by doing nothing unless they spike over $25.00 again...
