I hope not.

She's a poet. She should have a passion for words, and for their careful and appropriate use.

As a writer yourself, you should have the same.

For both of you, words are the tools of your profession. I look to you, and to all others whose profession is the careful and creative use of words, to take care of their tools. Not to let them get bent or rusty or let a chisel be used for a screwdriver, because soon the chisel becomes useless as either a good chisel OR a good screwdriver.

If it were someone other than Poet, somebody who had not taken on a certain resposibility for the English language, I might be less fierce about this. But I hold those who need a strong, healthy, accurate language for their success in life to a higher standard. Those who use it most have the obligation to protect it most.
