LOL, we don't agree that much. I said Intel may be giving a special deal, but it's certainly not at $100. Just look at the prices again. Pentium 4 1.4GHz is at $140, and the Athlon 1.4GHz is at $108. Those top-of-the-list pricewatch vendors never get 40% margins on their products, but I would believe that they'd get 8%. My guess is that Intel is loading some distributors with the lower prices set for the end of the month, and that a couple of vendors are getting their dibs early.

On the other hand, if Intel is willing to sell their Pentium 4 as low as $100, that only means that AMD will have to sell the Athlon for $75. As if AMD's margins weren't far enough in the hole.
