Thanks, I looked it up when I first saw it. Good term and fitting to give me a clear image of your position.

The analogy is clear, in that, destruction is imminant. You would like to see it another way so you dismiss the premise. Your presumtion that a two by four is not necessary is faulty. Your further assumption that since future rescues from an inhospitable world might be necessary that makes it futile, is pointless. The world in some ways, is inhospitable. You are right that the world rarely needs two by fours, you are wrong in avoiding the obvious that some causes merit a two by four. (We are using "two by four" metiphorically aren't we?)

If you don't want to deal with the analogy, I understand. Changing it or denying its merits is weak.
