I can not claim rambus call since a lot of people criticized Intel about that. My analysis was of Intel risk exposure and how likely it would play out and was made few years back.
on subject of rumors: any information is considered to have a positive value even if it is incorrect. Almost all if not all, conclusions are made on expectations that are formed from semi-concrete, at best, data. All information is biased one way or another - that is the fact of life.
Dealing with imperfect information and uncertainty is what I do for living.
If you want to deal only with perfect information then my "professional" advice is to keep your money under your pillow. Even banks and government securities are far from been certain.
So make a choice, either learn how to deal with uncertainty and extract value from any information or don't deal with it ... :-)) but do not blame me
