Hi Steve Lee; They're in bits, of course.

The memory industry requires about 10 weeks to make chips, and they're unable to predict what prices will be. DRAM prices are incredibly volatile. But based on their wafer starts, they can predict what their production will be in bits. In addition, they tend to carry inventory, which means it's even harder for them to figure out what price they'll get.

So they almost always give production numbers in bits.

Sales figures, of course, are in dollars.
