the nasdaq will respond when new tech leadership is establisehd. in the go-go sixties it was ibm, in the led zepplin 70's it was ?, in the Gipper 80's it was DEC, and in the 90's it was the felons of redmond. if you look back, each time these companies emerged as leaders it was after a recession. i was born in the sixties so i remember most of the recessions. think about it, recessions cause change and new leadership emerges in tech and in other areas such as politics.

i am betting that after this depression in tech that new leadership will emerge and will not be the leaders of the past. this is proving itself out if you look at hwp, cpq, dell. the only other shoes to drop are msft and intc and it will not take long before the general markets realizes whats going on. companies like orcl, sap, vrts, sunw, ibm will emerge stronger than ever because of internet related product cycles and the markets will respond accordingly. this will happen within the next 3-9 months. until then, the bears rule.

>The government also strikes down on speeding, even though fast driving makes you more productive...

why don't you add oral sex in the white house to the list:-)

In contrast everything that smells "profit" in Euroland is "prohibited unless explicitly allowed". Do we want the same to happen in the US by e.g. pushing the Renos du-jour ?
